China Peak ~ Lets Ski!

Over Presidents’ Day weekend my friends Kasey, Ben, Grayson, Chloe and took the RV down to China Peak for a Ski trip! I had only been skiing once before in my life so I was a bit nervous because everyone else had been skiing multiple times before. On the drive there we all sat in the Rv together and played some cards against humanity for a while. When we arrived us girls called dibs on the better room, we even had a coffee machine! The guys room smelled super bad and was tiny but they ended up switching rooms for a nicer one. We went out to have some fun in the snow but there was so much powder that if we walked normally we would fall through all the way to our waist, so we had to crawl. We found a rope swing and Grayson swung off of it falling onto to me, I then I used it like a vine, grabbed on, swung, and let go falling DEEP into the powder snow. After about an hour we all headed inside the hotel for dinner. After a disappointing hot chocolate we all headed up to one of the rooms and just talked and laughed before going to bed.

We wake up bright and earlym got on our snow gear, and went to go have breakfast in the RV. Chloe and I hit the slopes with Sonia nervous because we had not been skiing in a long time. We got on the lyft all the way up to the top and took a green run down called Academy, I fell twice on the way down but was going a lot faster than I thought I could. We did they run again and I didn’t fall and went even faster. We had to stop for lunch with everyone and met at the bottom of the mountain. After lunch Chloe and I did one more run but we did a blue run, I was surprised with how well I was able to go down the run. Kevin said he would take our skis back to the RV so Choe and I went to rest in the hotel room. We ended pizazing our facing with glitter just for the fun of it. Once everyone was back we headed down for dinner and found out Keviun forgot the skis and they were missing! We were going to look for them tomorrow and hopefully found them. We played a round of exploding kittens which I won. After we ate we went back to the hotel and decided to make a fort for out movie. We made a fort with what we had and all piled up to watch “The Greatest Showman”. After the movie we headed to bed exhausted from a day of skiing.

The next morning Chloe and I Slept in a bit, we got to meet a new person named Rob who was joining our ski trip, we had breakfast all togethrr and headed out to the slopes at about 9:45am. We had to rent knew skis because ours went missing and were not where to be found. Today we went off on our own starting with a green run but than started to take some harder runs, I ended up being able to go very fast down the slopes. We found Kasey, Ben and Grayson at the top of Academy, Kasey has Grayson’s snowboard and Grayson had Kaseys skis, while Ben was skiing with one Ski only! It was hilarious to watch but eventually Chloe and I left. We met up with Sonia and she took us down a very short powder run, I was bout nervous because it was steep but three guys on the lift above me cheered me on and encouraged me, Once I did it the three guys yelled in glee at me as I sped off down the run. We took some blues down to the main lodge for lunch where we met up with everyone. After lunch Chloe and I continued the more difficult runs but on the way up a Lyft my ski got stuck and I hurt my knee pretty. We went to warm up and then took and easy route down. I headed back to the RV with Kasey close behind. We waited for everyone to come back and headed to the hotel for a bit than coming back for dinner. After dinner we went back to the rooms and played a very long and hilarious game of Cards Against Humanity. I won they game with a total of 10 black cards After the game we all headed to bed.

The next morning I was very upset because my knee was still hurting a lot so I was not going to be able to Ski. We all packed our stuff and I had to lug mine a nice 10 minute walk to the RV by myself. Once I made it I ate breakfast and spent the next few hours doing homework and reading. Once everyone had returned we got comfy in the RV and started the trek back to Santa Barbara but we dropped Ben off on hour out. Once we had service Kasey and I watched “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” And read the book aloud which Grayson did not like. Returning home around 9pm, I was very tired from this fun trip at China peak, but relieved to have my bed again.
