Mammoth Ski Trip!

Ill admit this happened a few months ago but I didn’t can’t a chance to write about it.

I went to Mammoth Mountain with my friends Kasey, Q, and Nathan. We stayed in this very cool and kinda pig apartment my friend owns there. This was going to be my first time Skiing!

The mountain was absolutely stunning full white Powder snow. It was cold and I was very unprepared. The first day was just spend driving and when we arrived we went to the pool or in my case the hot tub while I watched my friends role in the snow. I could never. We explored around a little and had a snow ball fight, I was very nervous for the next day though. We had a nice dinner and went to bed.

The next day we awoke bright and early to the head up to the mountain, but low and behold I had forgotten my Ski jacket so I wore an extra one that made me look like a vegetable. We got into the Gondola and headed up the mountain! I could not breath I was terrified because all my friends had grown up skiing while I had not. I took a quick Ski lesson when we got there and learned my personal favorite savior position, the pizza slice.

My friends took me up the ski lift to a blue square so that I wouldn’t completely die. But to everyone’s including my surprise, I didn’t actually fall! And as I grew more comfortable I started to go faster and faster and faster till I was speeding down the mountain and going harder runs.

We all took a break and went to go have lunch at the top of the mountain. It was very very very very very cold. We stayed at the top and watched Kevin (Kasey’s dad) speed down the icy side of the mountain in amazement, it’s was pretty darn cool if you ask me. But I was lit going to ski down cause that’s to scary so we took the Gondola down but… to my absolute horror, the Gondola was stopped and swinging because the wind was so strong, right over the largest pit on the mountain, where we waited for about an hour, and I died inside. So safe to say I was done for the day after that.

That night we went back to the pool (aka hot tub if you Abby) and it started to snow. I had never seen snow fall so I was very happy and joyous. It was so beautiful… stunning even until WHAM! I was hit in the face with a Snow ball, by a little kid of the other side of the fence…. I built some snowmen with my friends until we went in to watch a movie and have dinner. Afterwards we went outside to make some s’mores at the fire pit, I dropped my marshmallow… but they made me another one so it was okay.

It had been a wonderful day and we still had a week and a half to go, but each day was filled with so much that I’m gunna leave it on the first day!
